FAQ - A CLASSIC AND TIMELESS APPROACH TO CERAMIC COATINGS.
What are paint corrections and ceramic coatings? How do they help keep your classic car looking its best? Is it possible to use or apply them yourself? We answer all these questions and more in our dtlrs FAQ.
Scratch & Swirl Paint 🌀
-
Every classic car needs a ceramic coating, but also a sign of a car needing protection is scratches and swirls on its paint which can come from old age and normal wear and tear.
-
We wouldn’t recommend it as you could make the scratches worse. To remove scratches you not only need the proper tools, you need years of experience with measuring and polishing classic car paint.
Buffing & Polishing ✨
-
A paint correction removes scratches, oxidation, and other imperfections from the paint surface, restoring its original shine and making the car look newer by creating a smooth, reflective finish.
-
Our paint correction packages can take between 2 and 6 hours, depending on the condition of the paint, the size of the vehicle, and the extent of the correction.
Ceramic Coatings 💦
-
Sure you can. But we wouldn’t recommend it if you are not experienced with ceramic coatings. When installed incorrectly you can create high spots and blotch your paint.
-
No. They can differ in their durability, application process, and performance. Some products claim to have ceramic properties in them but they are very minimal traces.
Our 3D products are level 9H hardness, safe for all classic cars.
